Default San Fran/Reno Double Nat'l Races

I was reading the Reno SCCA newsletter for December and had a question about the San Fran/Reno Double Nat'l Races at Thunderhill. I'm guessing that it is not an Autocross event but is it a time trial or what? I thought it may be a club race (door handle to door handle stuff) because San Francisco is big on that.

I'll probably not run the wagon in such an event but I think I'd like to work it. Anybody else thinking of making the trip? It is scheduled for March 16-18. Just looking ahead to spring and I have to plan early for scheduling conflicts with work. Later D-

Ever watch the Runoffs on Speed channel? This is a qualifying event for the SCCA Club Race national championship.

You need a race license and a Club Race prepped car to enter. If you're planning to work the event, check out the SFR Flagging & Communication refresher course at Infineon (it's usually in February IIRC). You'll learn a lot about what it takes to work a flagger station at a race.

Sounds like the whole thing may be out of my league. Thanks for the information Scott.

Do you have any in car video from autocrossing this year that you could post?

I don't think so... my DV camera broke, so I can't pull any video off my tapes for the web.

Volunteering to be a flagger wouldn't be out of your league, I did it one year and must say it's the best seat in the house - as far as being able to see racing up close & personal. And, SFR would love to have the help! You could check with Dave or Carol Deborde about details, I'm sure they'd point you in the right direction.
