![]() This car did actually make the horsepower claimed. I saw it with my own eyes and the dyno sheet is at my house. This car is not a dyno queen and it sees more racing than most people on here...( it travels alot ![]() ![]() BTW, call Dan at HM and tell him his dyno reads too high for the "real world" road racers.... ![]() |

I think Aaron's adequately responded to all your issues previously, and I'd appreciate you not stirring the pot.

Scott covered it. Delete me...
Why can't we delete our own posts in our own threads?

A new guy gets on the board, and basically his first post is "Who's got the biggest $%&!". We all say we aren't really into $%&! wagging around here. He then proceeds to tell us how big his $%&! is with no evidence and no cred with the regulars... We flame... If he had come on and talked about his R&D work and that he wasn't really ready to discuss mods and been a regular person, maybe come to a meet or two, he would have gotten a different response. We are not eThugs, we are meerly making it clear what this board is all about. You and he are welcome, but if you want to get along, you would be well advised not to piss on (or off) the natives. Make sense? Moderators: Feel free to clip this whole OT section into another thread if you are bored

And, we have our first SECCS Post of the Year nomination.
![]() For the record, Scott runs this board, is a senior software engineer with IGT... and he knows how the interwebs work.

8URSTI,
We have differing opinions and that's fine. We don't look down on drag racers, it's just not how most of us have chosen to mod our cars (given Subaru drivelines, heh). I know that in drag racing stuff tends to be more secretive because it is more about absolute power at some point; I'm not claiming to rip off 1.5's becuase it's not something I'm interested in doing. More power to you. The point we're trying to make is that this thread is about posting your mods and what you're making on different dynos, etc, so people can compare like mods, see how different dynos read with similar mods and tunes, etc. If you don't want to post anyhting apbut your car out of secrecy, then don't expect anyone to take you seriously. That's a fact of life when you're new to a community. You know the guy who posted, we don't, so you're going to tend to defend him, knowing more about the car than we do. I've worked with Scooby performance shops using heartbreaker dynos for years, and I've been on forums for way longer than that, and the issue I had was with his general approach of trying to "beat" people with his first few posts. I respect engineering andd time put into a car; I don't respect someone coming in claiming high numbers with no evidence, because everyone on this board is pretty open about what mods they've done. Not everyone claiming those numbers is a blowhard, but there's enough idiots on the internet that someone ignoring repeated questions about how they got there points to BS instead of fact. I asked what shop did the tuning becuase I was genuinely curious; we all know people in the industry, and I like to hear aobut shops pushing the limits on what can be done with cars even if it wouldn't be my chosen mod path. That said, if you do have any further concerns, feel free to PM me as there's no need to pollute the board.

Like Aaron said, more than once, the reason killer60ft got flamed was because of his attitude. In general drag racers tend to be the type to swing their johnsons around when it comes to power numbers. Since most of us here are autocross/time trialers, raw power is not the most important thing when it comes to performance. We don't have the same competitive nature as most drag guys when it comes to mods and numbers because in road racing, the driver is the most important element in going fast. We don't like the e-thuggery that inevitably comes when people want to compare themselves with dyno numbers, and killer60ft's posts were right down the middle the type of stuff that always results in e-thuggery. Aaron did a pretty good job explaining all of that in his subsequent posts about it, but you went and restarted the whole thing by "calling him out" on his original post, hence this thread, and the associated drama. As far as your blood/sweat/tears/etc... as someone that's put a shitload of work into a WRX, I applaud your commitment. Seriously... I've gone through 4 motors, 2 transmissions, 4 different suspension setups, 3 exhausts, 3 turbos, 3 intercoolers, 5 EM solutions, probably 10 different sets of wheels/tires (including an '05 hub conversion), water injection, a programmable DCCD controller, like 40 oil-breather configurations, and so on and on... I know how hard it is to eek out the performance you're looking for, and I respect those that go down all the dead-end paths looking for new/better ways to do things like I have. The difference is that I'm willing to talk about any and all mods I've done, the stuff I've learned along the way, and do my best to take the lessons I've learned and pass them along to others so not everyone has to try a UniChip and MBC, then an EcuTek reflash, then a Cobb AP, before realizing that a Hydra is the way to go, for example. In my experience, the drag set is too secretive... people only talk about their mods if it helps inflate their egos. On this board, you don't garner many poits from the members acting like that. We're plenty willing to believe that killer's car made the power he claims. But around here, we share and share alike. Big numbers aren't impressive... big knowledge is. He got flamed because he strutted around like we're supposed to be impressed and didn't drip a drop of knowledge on us.

And I'm sure the converse is true. I could tell you I got 49.7xx seconds on the last auto-x of last year, but I'm sure that means next to nothing (hell, its been so long it'd probably mean next to nothing for anybody without digging up a time sheet or knowing what numbers to compare it against).

I'm impressed that we even wasted our time responding to this type of stuff.
Nick, you busted a 49.7xx time last year? I seem to remember that it was a damn good run. I also remember that you had beaten my time for the same run.

I dunno, I made up the numbers
![]() Like I said, those numbers are really only relevant at the event since we aren't racing a known course every time.

That's what I was thinking. People that have bad attitudes around here usually phase themselves out.
