Car: 04 Evo 99 Cadillac Class: street de le mod | In Garage Car Lifts

So me and my Dad were looking at the 4 Post Storage/Service Lifts. Basically we were looking into making a 2 car garage work for 3. We have to go back and measure but one of the houses we looked at today had at least 11ft ceilings in the garage, it was height oversized. I'll get into number specifics afer I measure. Scott I know you must have looked at these before. The prices range from 1600-5000 pretty big swing. Anyone have any thoughts. Pm Egan? http://www.carguygarage.com/carlift.html http://www.pantherlifts.com/shopping...FR1BggodHVhKaw http://eagleequip.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=LI&WT.srch= 1&s_kwcid=garage%20car%20lift|668579826

So, they're slick for just storage. They require less prep than a normal 2-post in terms of slab depth since they're self supporting, which is nice, but you still can't do wheel and tire swaps, suspension work, etc, on them, which to my way of thinking is 75% of the reason to get a lift. That said, they're a better, more stable storage solution than a 2-post, and the lower clearance height might make it perfect. Mike's is a 2 post setup, but he has something insane like 25 feet of ceiling height, and a super-wide lift that makes it easy to use; his garage is bigger than Paul's shop. Also keep in mind that anything parked underneath one for a considerable amountof time is subject to all the little crap that normally comes off cars and is ignored on the pavement; brake fluid seepage, oil, tranny fluid, etc etc etc. Since most people think of it as a way to huck a project car out of the way as opposed to a perfectly maintained garage queen, it's something to think about. If Jeff's ceiling were higher I'd be thinking about a cheap one too

we are putting in a two-post lift in the garage at my house. it has a 12' ceiling and thats all the lift requires. I wouldnt reccomend storing a car on a two-post lift for too long though. thats a lot of stress on the lift if you leave it up with a car on it for two long ie for storage. bend-pak makes some nice lifts the ones you are talking about tyson.

Yeah, I would definately prefer one that would allow for tire changes, etc. But for storage, that looks nice.

A 4 post lift where the rails slid together so you could use it for wheels and such would be cool. I guess they have cross members and jacks you can use with the 4 posts, but the point is not to need a jack.

Were are looking at it for storage. Most of the lifts come with drip trays for the car on bottom.

Oh., I didn't click the links, but the one in the picture looks nice. Do they at least have the alignment plates on tehose 4 posts? Those can come in handy.
