Default Session Time-Out during Long Posts

Since Dean brought it up in the Brake discussion thread...

Please note that when taking a long time to edit a reply, your session can time-out, so when you finally attempt to post, you'll just get an "invalid session" error, and more than likely your post is lost forever.

If you're making a long post, please remember to edit in a text editor (or better yet, something w/ spell check for you non-spellers like me) then paste your post into the web browser. You'll be much happier taking the extra step to use an external editor than to lose 45 minutes of thoughtful writing.

Sorry, I didn't realize you had created an on-topic thread about this.

You can change the session length in the forum admin, General Admin section, then "Configuration." I think the default setting is 3600 seconds. Doubling or tripling it would probably do the trick.

Hey, look at that!

I set it to 3 hours (the default was 1 hour), let's see if that helps.

Oh, and I also upped the PM quotas to 200 messages, just for the crap of it.
