Car: 05 STi
Default For Sale: STi Transmission Mount

This tranny mount has only 3000 miles of gentle driving on it, like to go get milk and stuff. On a WRX it dramatically reduces the slack in the drivetrain, which can be felt as all the jerking back and forth everytime you push or lift the throttle, especially noticable in low gears.

If you have a WRX this mod makes it a lot easier to drive the car smoothly. If you have an STi you need this just for peace of mind in case the one already on your car breaks or something. If you don't even have a subaru but are thinking of getting one, this could be the first step!

The best part of all though is that this mod will allow you to autocross in the highly desirable street mod class where you can unleash you inner n00b in style.

I paid $75 for this thing, make me an offer I can't refuse ... otherwise I will just refuse it. Or don't buy it, I might just put it back on the car when the autocross season ends

p.s. Dean, if you want this for your car I think scott can be persuaded to buy it for you

Is it a group "N" or just the STI version?

Same part IIRC. The STi comes with the "Group N" mount, right? Kevin would know...

Group N = STi. Little known fact: STi cars other than the type R, type RA, and Spec C have never come with the STi/GrpN bushings. The 2004 STi has almost all the same bushings as a WRX. In fact, it may be exactly the same bushings, or at least materials. Oh, and the 5MT mount is different than the 6MT mount, which sucks for me, Matt, Mike, etc...

I thought US STi == JDM Spec-C, except for the US 2.5L motor and spring rates?

Far, far from it. The Spec-C is a stripped down factory race car wit dozens of changes from a JDM STi to make it go around a track faster, but suck much more on the street. IIRC nearly all of the Spec-Cs go directly to Prodrive, but I'm not positive. Anyway, the US STi shares much more in common with our WRX than the JDM STi once you get past the big-ticket hardware.
