Default Gauges: Another Option?

Since I am keeping it, I have decided I need gauges again. But I have been thinking of getting something different. Basically....this:

Defi Link Display unit

Quote:
Main Product Features The display uses OLED(organic light emitting diode). OLED is an advanced display which is self light emissive, high contrast, high response, low power consumptive, and large view angle. It uses optimal technology for instant readability without afterimages of flicker even when seen from the passenger's seat. Real-time digital information includes speed, oil temperature, water temperature, oil pressure, fuel pressure and exhaust temperature. When the RPM signal wire is connected to Defi-Link Control Unit II or Defi-Link Control Unit, 2 warning levels can be set in addition to the warning setting made by Control Unit II or Control Unit, enabling the setting of a total of 3 warning levels(Tachometer Triple Warning Mode). When the water temperature sensor is connected, the warm-up condition can be monitored. A graphic animation plays after the ignition is turned on or off(Opening Mode/Ending Mode). An easily recognizable graphic on each setting screen helps guide easy setting of warnings for Defi-Link Meters and Step Graph(Setting Assistance function). The Warning LED lights when the set warning value is exceeded for oil temperature, water temperature, exhaust temperature and engine RPM. The Warning LED lights when measured value drops below the set warning value for oil pressure and fuel pressure. Trouble locations are shown by graphics so that connection problems can be quickly corrected(Self-Diagnosis function). The structure of the mounting base allows height and angle adjustment so that it can match the shape of the instrument panel. The Defi-Link Indicator(sold separately) can be connected to the display.
so basically, after getting this and the equipment to wire it, it seems I would only need a tranny temp gauges, boost gauges, and maybe air/fuel gauge.

Any opinions?

That setup sounds sweet. How much is it for the display, the controller and all the sensors you need?

That's what I was planning on getting after I sold you my AutoMeters.

I've got the Defi Link II and the boost gauge so far. That was about $250. IIRC to add the display and the sensors for oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, and EGT was going to be another $900 or so. Which is why I still only have the boost gauge. I don't think Defi has a tranny temp, or A/F meter.

Also, the display is sorta blue/green in color... I want either red or white... I was hoping if I waited long enough they'd come out with a different color.

Air fuel gauge = useless, unless it's a wideband.

You should have a boost gauge if you're planning to turn up the boost, and I dont know about any temp gauge, I think they're all useless, because things can go wrong at xxx degrees or xxxx degrees, it just depends on your car... my opinion atleast. Plus your engine should throw the cell if anything goes wrong in that department - I know durango's do If anything get an EGT and install it on your up-pipe during the install.

I don't know if the Display will do fuel pressure... I thought it was only:

RPM
MPH
Water Temp
Oil Temp
Oil PRessure
EGT

That's why you need an actual boost gauge on the defi link. And w/o starting up the argument again, I'd still put the EGT in the #3 header, esp. since the defi's go up to 2000F.

Yeah, but then you'd have to run the heater on full blast all the time or you get inaccurate readings :?
