Those are some of my favorite Rotas. The price is the going price, but you might be able to find a better price if you wait for a sale. Sales are sporadic and won't always have what you want, but if you're not in a rush, might want to wait a bit.

well if you're going to run on those rims for the summer.. or keep them on the car almost all the time that your are driving.... if i could afford it, i'd just go with the real WORK wheels.. but that's just me. I feel there is a pretty big difference between the Rota wheels and the authentic wheels.. in appearance i mean.. and from what i understand.. the WORK wheels aren't much more than 700$ if you can find a good deal.

.. but i'm not exactly sure

okay.. did more research on the wheels. It seems that you can get the WORK wheels for about 1100-1200$ shipped? and i know STi Eric can hooook those up from wheeloption or his "source".. I guess the price difference is about 4-500 dollars.. and you could almost buy tires for that price.... but it's the bling factor.. c'mon

SubyDude is a good vendor, but I'd recommend buying from him off of eBay, the prices are lower there.

Torques are probably my first choice among Rotas too.

Kind of just want an inexpensive replacement for the stock STI wheels. Its either that, or take off the RE050's and put on some more road friendly tires. I kind of want to save my stock tires for racing. If I ever get into it.

By the way, when is the next class to get qualified to race?

Yeah Chris, work work work.

You don't need to "qualify" to autocross. You just need a Driver's license and a car. See you saturday man.

I'm in Sac on Saturday, so I can't go. Possibly Sundaym but it will probably be tough. Hopefully I will have my car back by then.

If you can make it out on Sunday that would be cool. And we could find you a co-drive, even if you don't have your car yet.

Thank you so much. It will all depend if we come back Saturday or Sunday from Sac. I'll touch base with you Saturday evening.

Thanks again.

Just an observation on this weekend. According to the weatherchannel.com, its suppost to be raining all weekend.

My RE070's are no good in the rain.

Does the Tirerack warehouse install the tires they sell?

I can vouch for that as well. They suck in the rain. I don't know about Tirerack installs though. The Audi guys seemed to be doing really well in the rain with the Michelin Pilot Sports.

Yeah, the new pilot sports 2 (ps2) are supposed to be super hot in the wet stuff, and even then not that bad on dry, I think the only drawback..... price.

Chris.

Remember, driving in "rain" and driving in "standing water" are two different things. RE070s are okay in the former but not the latter.

If you want to snmag a set of tires before saturday, you can get them mounted at Sid's for $60. TireRack only mounts if you order wheels and tires together.

Chris, if you're concerned about wet handling, get a set of Kumho MXs from TireRack instead of the 215s from the RS25.com vendor. They're not as sticky dry, but handle rain well. Being that you'll have two sets of wheels though, I personally would strongly consider the azenis. In STS/TDSP with 215s, you will actually have a decent car.

Also, after looking at PAX, you should run TDSP instead of STS Chris. You aren't illegal for DSP yet, and you get a slightly better pax.
