Default Acronym same as the real thing?

If I were to say f that. Or wtf man/mate?

You would pretty much consider this using the f-word?

Some people spend way too much time on forums and basically fill in the blank with no real effort. You might only get a second look from other people, who are trying to figure out what you are talking about.

Is saying "I f'd your sister"

as bad as saying "I f****d your sister"

I was accused at work of being a little to easy with my language while really only using letters to express my feeelings! I didn't get in trouble the person was trying to make a point. I don't swear or acronym swear around my people.

omg.

Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me.

I don't think using the short form is any less vulgar, it is effectively slang for the same word, and thus the same implied meaning and connotations.

Oh, and my sister's husband is 6'4" & 220# and is going to have to F' you up!

Whateva, whateva, I do what I want!

But seriously, if people are offended by the letter, then they deserve to offended. Personally, if a stranger came up to me and said in the meanest possible way "You are an f'n piece of s and I'm going to beat your m fing a!" I'd laugh in their face. That would just be too funny to think they were being serious.

So my vote is no, acronyms don't mean the same thing as their word counterparts.

Business setting is different, I'd day you're better off not saying the letters.

In regular life, I use the words and letters interchangeably. Basically, if I'm talking to someone that I wouldn't say "fuck that!" in front of, then I also wouldn't say "F that!" as well. I don't think the letter version is quite as vulgar, but it's really only splitting hairs.

What's stupid is how bent out of shape people get over specific words. It's really not the words you use, it's what you're saying with them that's important. Context and intent is far more important in determining the offensiveness of a statement than the actual words themselves... which goes back to why saying "F that" can be just as offensive as "fuck that", assuming your intent w/ the letter is the same as saying fuck.
