This last saturday myself and 2 freinds installed a bunch of stuff on my friends 02 wrx. Parts are as follows, IHI VF34, Walbro fuel pump, pinks, gutted the stock up, 3" catless TBE and Cobb AP. The whole thing took us about 10hrs and a lot of bloody knuckles. We fired the car up and it ran like a freaking top. We put about 200 miles on it without getting into real boost and then we discovered the clutch is gone.
The car has 70k and depressing the clutch feels like your stepping on a dead cat. So there are 2 questions; Will the Exedy Single Plate Organic Clutch be able to handle the new power? (This car will not see any racing and there will be no more power mods) Is there a place in town that will install a clutch for a decent price? All input and advice is welcome ![]()

easy answer is only for a short time...look into getting the exedy hypersingle set up good to 400 foot pounds of TQ. And exedy has a dealer here in reno on corner of Terminal and Mill.

I've got a hypersingle in my WRX... I wouldn't call it a "daily driver" clutch. It's pretty stiff and grabby. If you get used to it, you can get by on the street... but it's not fun.

If you buy your clutch I think at Reno Brake, they will refinish your flywheel for free. That should save some bucks...

thanks dean^ and for your help on the phone.
So in short I guess were looking for something stronger then the single plate organic yet more daily driver friendly then the hypersingle. Anyone else have any ideas?

Consider with the ACT stronger pressure plate/lower upgrade disc combo. The pedal will obviously be stiffer, but it will slip better at low speeds than using a higher-friction disc and softer pressure plate.

There is also a place next to Khail's(I hope its ok with you to say so Khail) place of business that will replace clutches/work on transmissions for a reasonable amount. Just had the Jetta's clutch/flywheel replaced there a few days ago.
