Default Reno Job Hunting

So most of you guys don't really know me -- I've never been to a meet, only two autoXs, and volunteered at a couple of track days last year -- but I figured I'd give this a shot.

I am looking for a Mechanical Engineering job in the Reno area. I have been looking in all the usual places, but figured some of you might know someone who knows someone or something.

I have five years experience with general machine design and have _lots_ of experience with SolidWorks. I am currently working as a project engineer with underwater ROVs. Like the job but it is in Davis.

My very-soon-to-be fiancee is in Reno, and we would like to make it our home... So if any of you out there know of something please let me know.

Thanks,
Steve

You want to leave Davis to live in Reno?

What?

Sorry, I have no actual help to give...

Yeah, so I can actually afford a house that is not a shoebox!

Seriously, Reno has lots of things that Davis/Sac lack...

Unfortunately, there's not an awful lot of work in teh area for mechanical engineers. My landlord just landed a job as a plant manager for Sherwin-Williams in Fernley 2 weeks ago after about 10 months of searching. However, he's got almost 30 years of experience and jobs at his level are hard to find quickly anywhere. If you're still workign at the non-supervisory level you may have more positions to choose from.

YEah, I know there is not much work, I have been looking up there for about a year. At the time was living in G'ville, but was forced to come down here... I'm kind of in limbo as far as job title goes, really mid-level...

Well thanks for the input. Maybe something will come up...

Oh yeah, if anyone wants a nice 3bd. 2ba. in G'ville, let me know I'm trying to sell one.

IGT has some Mechanical Engineer positions available (jobs.igt.com). I used to know a ME guy here but he left so I don't know the best person to talk to. But they do all their applications online. Maybe someone else in this forum knows a more specific contact. $2500 referal bonus.

I worked for Don at Bently Pressurized Bearing (Not GE) for three years... That was enough of Don. GE is out I knew enough people that worked there, and have worked for big corps. before. Not for me....

Yes, I'll fix it for you. Again.

Steve, I sent you a PM, as a small company I work with (in Gardnerville, doh!) is currently looking for an M.E.
