Default 2004 Subaru Outback

Located in Reno. 2004 Outback 5 speed, red two tone. 115k miles. Heated cloth seats, defrosters on the wipers and mirrors. Mechanically in excellent shape, with new HGs and timing bits. Cosmetically has some flaws. Dent in the rear hatch and one in the front of the hood. Also some scratches and tiny dings here and there, but nothing major. No rust.It was a kid hauler for the last 6 years, so there are some small stains on the back seats but overall the interior is in good shape. I bought this with a bad motor to keep as my DD, but an awesome deal came along on a Forester XT, so this has to go.

Asking $6500.

Hmm... if it were blue or white, Limited, with a VDC auto tranny, in great cosmetic shape but with a blown motor, for under $3000, I'd be all over this.

So, if it were different in every way. Got it.

Congratulations on the FXT. I have been contemplating the thought of having an FXT myself, as it has all the qualities of a kid hauler with that added punch. I'll keep my eyes peeled for buyer on that OB.

Sounds like the VDC would go into the SVX.

Unfortunately, no one's figured out the TCU issues yet for getting those newer transmissions to work in the SVX... and finding a 1st gen VDC from Japan is nearly impossible and prohibitively expensive. Otherwise, I would have done that swap instead of the 4.44:1 swap I already did.

But really, I'd love an '04 H6-3.0 VDC Outback... wagon or sedan... but they're still kinda expensive. I figure one with a blown motor might be pretty cheap, and then I can just put a 2.5 turbo WRX motor in it, or even the motor out of the WRX (and put the 6MT in the SVX) and then just sell the race car as a roller.
